I liked the look of the borders to put around the adsense boxes that I found on Big Sensation, its a free download.

Just download the zip file, unpack and cut-n-paste the html to your template. You need to surround your adsense script with the table code. Its fairly obvious when you see the html. Upload the 5 graphics needed (don't miss the spacer.gif) and double check the paths to the graphics, I used fully qualified url's to make it unbreakable. broken-adsense-borders

The preview looked fine but when I published then the fun began. On IE ok but Firefox expanded the border graphics in all directions. Ugly.

To go through the 3 hours of fruitless code searching will bore you. The reason which I guess a few may have trouble with is the Doc Type declaration. My template is originally based on Stop Designs Minima which is of course coded to XHTML 1.0 Strict.

I changed the declaration to XHTML 1.0 Transitional and it all came right as you can see low down on the sidebar. Ah well, only 3 hours of my life wasted.....

So simply paste this line line over the first line of the template -
!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"
between the less-than & greater-than signs.

Job done.

P.S. I know I should find out why its not XHTML 1.0 Strict valid, ah , perhaps another day...
