There is a lot of confused posts about how to enable Joomfish 2.0 compatibility with Joomla 1.5 & VirtueMart 1.1 Here (hopefully) are the steps and files needed to get these 3 components to work together. UPDATE!!! There is definitely a problem with VM 1.1.6 and Joomfish as per the forum posts on Virtuemart, specifically a 500 Server Error on the final checkout stage (see comments also below). It appears that this is fixed if you choose in Global Config your Database Type as mysqli Haven't tested - only what I've read.. First make sure you have the latest versions of each package, Joomfish especially has had a number of bug fixes, the current version is Joomfish 2.03.
It should all work now apart from the VirtueMart Store Information which when you try to translate gives a "Fatal error: Call to a member function getTable() on a non-object". To fix this you need to rename the joomla_root/administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements/vm_store_info.xml to vm_vendor.xml. Why this has never been done in the original pack I don't know. You could of course do this before you uploaded them. You can download the pack with the change done from here. While your there if you need to have a different Store Name then change line 10 of joomla_root/administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements/vm_vendor.xml to - <field type="titletext" name="vendor_name" translate="0">Store Name</field> to... <field type="titletext" name="vendor_name" translate="1">Store Name</field> So all fields should now be available in the Joomfish --> Translate section. |

It should all work now apart from the VirtueMart Store Information which when you try to translate gives a
"Fatal error: Call to a member function getTable() on a non-object".
To fix this you need to rename the joomla_root/administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements/vm_store_info.xml to vm_vendor.xml.
just change in vm_vendor.xml
type="textarea"
to
type="htmltext"
administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements
Can you please help?
I'm following your instructions and i cannot find the directory mentioned in "Unzip the pack and ftp the files to joomla_root/administrator/components/com_joomfish/" to ftp the files "contentelements" into.
Os there a reason this folder doesnt exist?
I'm using Joomla 1.5.23 and Joonmfish 2.1.7
Many thanks

Yes, saw this in forums as well but will have to do some research as to why because obviously we aren'T using mysqli so there must be a syntax error some where that this fixes
After all steps i done, one big problem appear. When i click on confirm order button i have error 500 from database... ?? Can you tell me how to solved it?
This tutorial has solved it for me.

Another question I have is if it's possible to translate the VM shopdata site with the shopdescription?
Thank you very much again for your support.
I have no more access to the joomla contents.
Do you have an idea how this can be?
Best Regards, Christoph
I am trying to get all to work but no luck. After all the forums I read still not working 100%. I am getting translation working but when I select show all product the productnames do not translate.
After doing the changes listed above I can no longer translate to Dutch.
So if anyone can send me a full working pachage that would be great.
Regards
Gregor.

Actualy no, I have no idea where to change the joomla access password from. Can you help me here?
Gregor.
Double check your password typing etc ( I assume you've updated your Joomla config with the new password?)
Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL
Not even the administration backend works.
If it helps, during the configuration I also changed the SQL database password.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

PHP 5.2.9
Joomla 1.5.15
VirtueMart 1.1.4
JoomFish 2.04
This field needs to be called
`attribute_sku_id`.
You can do this manually or by a SQL statement, whatever..
thanks a lot for your help on this problem.
I have an issue with this step
One database table needs to alter to conform with the Joomfish schema so you need to run the following query.
The easiest way is to simply paste the query into your phpMyAdmin SQL tab and click "Go".
It adds another field auto-increment field to the jos_vm_product_attribute_sku table.
What exactly does it mean? Do I have to change a line somewhere??
Thank you!
Have a nice day!
Thanks for your tutorial.

Mamboman
I have installed the VM Content Elements and added some advanced attributes.
When I want to add the translations in the backend (VM products attributes SKU) I get the error message 'Unknown column c.attribute_sku_id in field list ...'. The field attribute_sku_id doesn't exist in the table jos_vm_product_attribute_sku, so the error message seems logic.
Then I have added the alter table statement as shown in the article above. But my attributes still aren't translated.
In the backend I can open the translations for attribute_sku but allways the same record is opened and I can't save the translations.
I urgently need a solution for this frustrating problem.
Seriously, hundreds of work hours are not wasted after all, thanks to you.
Thought it should work out of the box.
Great tutorial.
I have the problem with checkout, too. What was the error in detail?
Cheers
